Articles in the Boston Globe and the New York Times have noted that farmers are very concerned about tomato/potato blight outbreaks in the Northeast US.  A major grower for big box stores is suspected to be  primary source of the outbreak.  While I’ve purchased a few plants from major big box stores in the past, this outbreak is making me consider growing even more of my own plants from seeds and only buying plants that have been locally grown.
